Rockfon - The ARK

Project Description:

The ARK office building in Hammersmith, originally designed by Ralph Erskine and Lennart Bergstrom, underwent a significant refurbishment in 2023 to meet the needs of modern workers. The redesign by Gensler, with BW: Workplace Experts as contractors, focused on creating a healthy, creative work environment. Biophilic design elements were central to the project, including natural lighting, outdoor terraces, and wellness facilities like a gym and café. Acoustic solutions, such as Rockfon Mono Acoustic ceilings, ensured noise control without compromising the building’s sleek, modern aesthetics.

The Shoot:

Working with Rockfon Danmark on this project was an exciting and rewarding experience. Our main goal was to capture stunning still photography showcasing the seamless integration of acoustic panels within the building’s architecture alongside producing a mini-documentary. This involved interviewing a key stakeholder to explain the project’s background and process while capturing supporting visuals and aerial drone footage to highlight the iconic ARK building. The shoot was well-planned, including a recce day and two shoot days for both stills and video. Collaborating with Rockfon’s marketing manager, who flew in from Copenhagen, made the process enjoyable. I focused on creating a consistent, polished visual narrative in post-production, ensuring a smooth and successful outcome.
