Covet Noir - Dulwich Residence

Project Description:

This modern, accessible home in Dulwich, designed by Covet Noir in collaboration with Takero Shimazaki Architects, seamlessly blends functionality with a warm, Japanese-inspired aesthetic. Crafted around three internal courtyards, the house maximizes natural light while maintaining open, easy-to-navigate spaces. The design features a palette of glass, stone, timber, and lime plaster, complemented by organic materials and soft, natural tones to enhance the indoor-outdoor connection. Bespoke elements, such as a custom vanity and handcrafted furniture, highlight the home’s emphasis on craftsmanship, comfort, and accessibility without compromising style.

The Shoot:

Shooting this project with Covet Noir was an incredibly rewarding experience, as the architecture and interior design perfectly aligned with my style and vision. I primarily used natural light to capture the space, adding supplemental lighting in the bathrooms to maintain a consistent, natural feel. The sunny day was a true gift, allowing the architecture and interiors to shine beautifully. Post-production focused on maintaining consistent colours and lighting, ensuring no blown-out areas, and preserving the images' depth and detail.
