Yana Molodykh Interiors - Vienna Residence

Project Description:

This top floor apartment in Vienna, designed by Yana Molodykh Interiors, is a refined contemporary space defined by softness, materiality, and carefully considered detailing. Set within a new building, the project combines clean architectural lines with warm, tactile finishes to create a calm and inviting living environment.

A harmonious palette of timber, stone, and muted tones runs throughout the apartment, complemented by bespoke joinery, curved forms, and elegant brass accents. The design balances precision with warmth, allowing each space to feel both structured and relaxed. Natural light plays a key role, filtering through large openings and soft textiles to enhance the atmosphere and highlight the subtle textures and craftsmanship across the interior.

The Shoot:

This was another great collaboration with Yana Molodykh Interiors, continuing a series of travel-based projects we have worked on together. I spent a few days in Vienna around the shoot, allowing time to fully engage with both the space and its surroundings. Projects like this, where interior design and architectural clarity come together, benefit from a more considered and immersive approach.

The shoot itself was completed in one day, focusing on capturing the detail, materiality, and overall atmosphere of the apartment. With such a strong design foundation, the process felt natural, allowing each composition to highlight the craftsmanship and carefully considered elements throughout the space. Natural light played an important role, with soft daylight enhancing the warmth of the materials and shaping the overall tone of the interiors.

Post-production brought consistency and balance to the full set, with subtle colour grading reinforcing the calm, refined character of the space. The final images reflect a thoughtful approach to interiors photography, capturing the atmosphere and details of the home in line with my work as a London-based interior photographer.
