Txtured Studio - North London Period Renovation

Project Description:

This North London period renovation by Txtured Studio is a thoughtful reimagining of a historic home, where original architectural character is carefully balanced with a contemporary design approach. The project retains the charm and proportions of the existing structure while introducing a refined material palette and a confident use of colour.

Layered textures, bespoke detailing, and carefully selected furnishings create a warm and inviting atmosphere throughout. Each space feels considered and cohesive, with a strong emphasis on how light interacts with surfaces and tones. The result is a home that feels both timeless and expressive, combining heritage with a fresh, modern sensibility.

The Shoot:

This shoot took place just before Christmas, during one of the darkest periods of the year, which introduced both challenges and opportunities in shaping the final look. It was also a meaningful project, marking the client’s first professional shoot at the level they envisioned for presenting their work. Being trusted in that role made the process especially rewarding, particularly within a residential setting where interior photography plays such an important part in communicating design intent.

We worked closely with stylist Alex Kristal, who prepared each space with great care. Styling became a key part of the process, with final adjustments made on set to ensure every composition felt balanced and intentional. Collaborating in this way always adds another layer of refinement, especially when documenting interior design and architectural elements together.

Due to the limited natural light, I used supplemental flash throughout, shaping it carefully to feel natural and consistent across the set. In some cases, light was introduced through windows to enhance the sense of daylight, while later in the day, longer exposures were needed to maintain clarity as conditions dropped. Post-production brought everything together, with a slightly more stylised colour grade developed in line with the client’s vision. The final images reflect a considered approach to interior design photography in London, capturing both the atmosphere of the home and the detail within each space.
