Fletcher Priest Architects - Workplace Gym Project
Project Description:
This workplace gym by Fletcher Priest Architects, set within a contemporary London office building, redefines the traditional idea of an office amenity. Designed as both a functional training environment and a considered wellness space, the project combines performance-driven design with a refined, architectural approach.
A strong visual identity runs throughout the space, with darker tones, warm timber finishes, and carefully integrated lighting creating a bold yet controlled atmosphere. From the expansive gym floor to the spin studio, yoga space, and changing areas, each zone is thoughtfully planned to support both activity and recovery.
The use of linear lighting, feature installations, and textured surfaces adds depth and rhythm, while the layout ensures a seamless flow between different functions. The result is a highly considered environment that enhances the everyday experience of its users, bringing a sense of quality and intention to workplace wellbeing.
The Shoot:
This was a one-day shoot in the heart of London, working once again with one of my favourite architectural teams. As always, Fletcher Priest came well prepared with a clear shot list, allowing us to move efficiently and focus on executing each composition to a high standard. Projects like this in workplace environments benefit from that level of structure, especially when balancing multiple zones within a single space.
The project itself was a pleasure to photograph, not only for its strong design but also for its uniqueness. Workplace gyms are relatively rare in my portfolio, and it was interesting to approach a space that combines technical performance requirements with a strong visual identity. Lighting played a key role throughout the shoot, combining natural light with carefully controlled flash to shape each scene and maintain consistency across the different areas, from the darker gym floor to the more softly lit wellness spaces.
We captured the space both with and without people, ultimately focusing on the clean, unoccupied compositions to highlight the interior design and architectural qualities without distraction. Post-production focused on blending light layers, refining colour balance, and achieving cohesion across the full set. The final images present the space with clarity and intent, reflecting my work as a London interior photographer capturing workplace and architectural projects.
