Callender Howorth - Parisian Dream Apartment

Project Description:

This Paris apartment, designed by Callender Howorth, is a bold and expressive interior defined by a dramatic interplay of light and dark tones. The space unfolds as a richly layered composition, where contrasting materials, colours, and finishes create a sense of depth and intrigue throughout.

Each room reveals its own distinct character, with carefully curated details and unexpected moments that give the apartment a unique and almost theatrical quality. The design balances intensity with refinement, allowing darker elements to feel elegant rather than heavy, while lighter tones bring contrast and clarity. The result is a highly atmospheric home that feels both intimate and visually striking, offering a constantly evolving experience as you move through the space.

The Shoot:

This was a stunning interiors shoot, with the apartment feeling almost like a jewel box, full of detail and surprises in every direction. It was a pleasure to work with Callender Howorth and their team, whose collaborative approach and clear design vision made the process both smooth and highly enjoyable. Projects where interior and architectural elements are so closely intertwined require a careful balance between atmosphere and structure.

The shoot focused on capturing the richness and complexity of the interiors, carefully exploring each space to highlight textures, contrasts, and layered compositions. Given the darker winter conditions, I used supplemental flash throughout to shape the light and ensure every room retained depth, clarity, and atmosphere. Each composition was built with precision, using controlled lighting to enhance materials and bring out the full character of the design.

Post-production brought everything together into a polished and cohesive final set. Light layers were carefully blended, colours refined, and details enhanced to achieve a balanced and elevated result. It was especially rewarding to see the project widely published, and the final images reflect a more expressive approach to interior photography in London and across international residential work.
