Olga Ashby - Rive Gauche

Project Description:

This elegant Parisian apartment, designed by Olga Ashby, is a masterclass in luxury and timeless design. Set in a Haussmannian building, the interiors balance classic architectural grandeur and modern refinement. A curated selection of antique and contemporary pieces creates a space that feels both sophisticated and inviting.

Rich textures, velvet, marble, and gilded finishes add depth, while soft, ambient lighting enhances the apartment’s warmth and intimacy. At its core, this home is designed for elevated entertaining, where each room flows seamlessly into the next, offering a harmonious backdrop for gatherings and quiet moments alike.

The Shoot:

It was a rewarding experience to spend three days photographing this Parisian apartment. The timing worked perfectly, with the last autumn leaves visible through the windows, adding a warm and slightly rustic contrast to the refined interiors. Projects like this, set within strong architectural frameworks, always benefit from taking the time to observe how light and surroundings interact with the space.

Most of the shoot relied on natural light, allowing the textures and material richness to come through naturally. In areas like the entry hallway and study, I introduced subtle artificial lighting and refined it further in post-production to enhance depth and maintain consistency. With some final works still underway, careful planning was needed to work around them while keeping each composition clean.

Working with Olga Ashby was, as always, a pleasure; her attention to detail and styling brought every scene together effortlessly. Alongside the photography, we also captured video content for Instagram, making full use of the time on site. The final images reflect a refined approach to interiors photography, aligned with my work as a London interior design photographer across residential projects.
