Gensler - The Francis Crick Institute
Project Description:
Designed by Gensler, this state-of-the-art research facility combines functionality with a refined contemporary aesthetic. A neutral base palette is paired with bold colour accents, biophilic elements, and sustainable materials such as perforated timber and acoustic wall systems.
Carefully integrated lighting and environmental graphics contribute to a dynamic yet controlled atmosphere, supporting both collaboration and focus within one of London’s leading life sciences environments.
The Shoot:
Shooting with Gensler is always a great experience, and this project was a fantastic way to start the year. With no natural light, lighting was the biggest challenge, so I used flash layers to ensure every design detail was captured as intended.
In this one-day shoot, we created 10 final images, balancing wide hero shots with detailed compositions. Working within a workplace environment like this, we also staged people within the space to add scale and showcase human interaction.
Post-production played a crucial role in refining light and colour balance, removing distractions, and ensuring a polished, high-end finish. The result was a set of images that the team was thrilled with, and once published, the project gained strong recognition, forming part of my wider body of interior photography in London.
